Celebrating the Elevate Teaching Movement

In 2021 the Minnesota Legislature appropriated funding for the Minnesota Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB) to develop a teacher recruitment and marketing campaign. PELSB contracted Dr. Rose Chu for implementation of this campaign who in turn contracted Collectivity for additional capacity support.

That was last year. Since then, we have been hard at work developing what turned out to be the Elevate Teaching Campaign, a movement dedicated to elevate the teaching profession and recruit teachers (especially from communities of color). On May 11th, Elevate Teaching hosted the Celebration and Launch event to build awareness for the movement, celebrate the teaching profession, and to energize the Minnesotan educator community (check out photos on Facebook).

For Collectivity, the Elevate Teaching project has been an incredible opportunity to practice movement building using transformational change messaging. The May 11th event was the culmination of months of work and wouldn’t have been possible without the dozens of partners who lent their expertise along the way.

We at Collectivity believe that regardless of individual experience with teaching or learning, teaching is a profession worth elevating to the reverence it deserves. Do you agree?
