Relation-Based Networks with RealTime Talent
Our partner RealTime Talent (RTT) is an employer-led collaborative focused on aligning Minnesota’s workforce by empowering job seekers with the necessary skills to access high-demand opportunities. We spoke to Deb Broberg, RTT’s Executive Director about her experience working with Collectivity.
RTT works with service providers, educational institutions, community based training organizations and the public sector to ensure students and job seekers have the skills and experience that employers are looking for. Deb mentioned that their end goal is to close both the opportunity gap for people of color as well as to reduce talent misalignment in the state.
Collectivity and RTT have worked together in building strategic plans that are currently guiding RTT’s research and long term goals. When describing her experience with Collectivity, Deb stated : “Collectivity is a neutral party with the expertise to facilitate the strategic planning process that ensures the organization is heading in the best possible trajectory and putting priorities in the right place.”
Deb’s background in the private sector made her aware of the importance of considering funding for nonprofits and how the sources of funding would shape the future of her organization. Traditionally, nonprofits depend on grants for funds, however Collectivity contributed to RTT’s new revenue streams and growth by developing consulting capabilities that RTT can offer to clients. This external injection of capabilities has helped RTT move forward and grow.
When describing the importance of Collectivity’s involvement with RTT, Deb mentions: “Collectivity is a unique partner because it forms relationship-based networks and engagements with so many stakeholders in this space.” Collectivity’s connection with partners and players, that she also engages with results in stronger relationships and an interconnected web of collective impact.
“This work is all about collective contribution” concludes Deb. “It’s more than partnerships, it’s about truly collaborating and I have come to really value Collectivity’s connection points with so many of the partners and players that we work with. It’s been fun to see these relationships grow.”
